Reports: Reds looking at striker Caracciolo

According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are chasing another striker.

The paper claims that the Reds had scouts watching the game between Palermo and Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Cup last week, and it says it believes Liverpool were looking at Palermo's Andrea Caracciolo.

Palermo are currently joint top of Serie A with Inter Milan, both sides having 15 points from seven games. West Ham fans would be familiar with Caracciolo – he was linked with a move to Upton Park in the summer and scored one of the goals that sent the Hammers out of the UEFA Cup earlier in the season.

There's a possibility that this story has all come about through agents, the player is said to be unhappy at not being guaranteed a first team place. If that's true then he perhaps ought to look to another club rather than Liverpool.

There's also a story that Liverpool are interested in another striker from Italy, Piacenza's Daniele Caccia.
