Another Liverpool player has been released by the club. Mauricio Pellegrino joined Liverpool in January on a short-term contract from Valencia. The Argentinian had played under Rafa Benitez during his time at Valencia before he became a Reds player.
Pellegrino made 12 appearances for the Reds during his short stay but was informed that his contract wouldn’t be renewed.
Meanwhile another defender from Spanish football could be set to take Pellegrino’s place. Liverpool have already been strongly linked with a move for Real Zaragoza’s Gabriel Milito. Milito has told Sky Sports that he’d be very interested in a move to Anfield, but he’s not been told yet by his club what the situation is: "If Liverpool make a concrete offer then it would be very difficult to say no. I am happy at Zaragoza but it is not every day the champions of Europe are interested in you. I have asked my club for a fast solution. They already know my position and I do not want to spend my holidays with doubts on where I will play next season."
