Ilya - Kraft mentioned recently that he'd still be interested in Liverpool but also pointed out that he was wary of the way that you'd need to put so much money in just to get on a level playing field with your opponents. He's used to salary caps and so on. He said he'd want to be a winner, and would rather not get involved than be an also-ran!

Of the ex-players you mention John Barnes is a great guy and a legend on the field but never seemed cut out for coaching. Aldo's got the passion and did ok in his management role at Tranmere under difficult circumstances. Molby is a very intelligent and observant guy when it comes to football. Not sure about Houghton, last time I heard him talking about us he seem trapped in the distant past, but that was a while back now. (Just my views on them).
