Reports coming out of Spain tonight suggest that Rafael Benitez has signed an extension to his contract at Anfield. Varying lengths of time have been quoted, but the new contract is said to run until 2010 by some reports, a one-year-extension. According to others he has signed a 3-year extension.
No official confirmation as yet from Anfield, although they may be waiting until tonight’s game to make the announcement.
Speculation has been rife that Real Madrid and Inter Milan were desperate to sign the coach, but this move should see the speculation brought to an end.
