Brondby and Liverpool have finally agreed a fee of £5.8million for the transfer of central defender Daniel Agger. Agger was at Melwood this morning and will become a Liverpool player later today, subject to passing a medical.
Rafael Benitez had admitted interest earlier in the week in signing Deportivo La Coruna’s Fabricio Coloccini and Cesar, but there’s no doubt that Agger was his main defensive target. If all goes well with the medical Agger will become the second defender to sign for the Reds during this transfer window, following on from Jan Kromkamp who arrived last week.
