Liverpool will face Deportivo Saprissa in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup after the Costa Rican outfit beat Sydney FC of Australia this morning.
Christian Bolonas scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game after 47 minutes to give Saprissa a 1-0 win.
The Australian side, captained by former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, had a setback when with nine minutes to go Alvin Ceccoli was dismissed by Japanese referee Toru Kimikawa.
The Liverpool match takes place on Thursday.
