Souness: I was a success as Reds boss

Graham Souness believes his time at Anfield was a success. Considered by most Reds fans to be one of Liverpool’s best-ever players, Souness did not get the same praise during his time as the Anfield boss.

Souness didn’t help matters for himself by giving an interview to the Sun, during a time when Liverpool fans saw him struggling to bring any silverware to the club. Newcastle have just had one of their worst seasons for some time. He told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle that he doesn’t think he’s struggled as a manager anywhere: "When I look back at the managerial jobs I have had, Rangers, Liverpool, Galatasaray, Southampton, Torino – if you can count six games – Benfica and Blackburn Rovers, I believe I have been a success."

Souness has reportedly been looking to bring ex-Red Michael Owen to Anfield in the summer.
